Neural impairment test suite is a curiosity tool to self-evaluate behavior changes for people in a risk group or with suspected symptoms of neural impairments (e.g. similar to those of Huntington, Parkinson, Alzheimer's). You'll be able to compare your own usage patterns over time (we recommend to take a test every two weeks) or versus general baselines of healthy/impacted groups calculated by "artificial intelligence".
This app is for your own curiosity only, as it DOES NOT REPLACE an advice of a medical professional and DOES NOT SUBSTITUTE a professional evaluation.
INSTRUCTION:
Tremor impairment tasks:
• T1: Sequential Touch. Patient is instructed to touch one-coloured circular objects located in device screen sequentially from first till last with 1 finger. Goal is to touch as close to centre and as fast as possible.
• T2: Rainbow Color Touch. Patient is instructed to touch indicated color (from rainbow spectrum) circular object using 1 finger as close to centre and as fast as possible.
• T3: Multi-Touch. Patient is instructed to touch shown number of circles using multiple fingers (one or both hands). 3 modes are supported: 2 circles, 3 and 6 circles. Goal is to touch as close to centre and as fast as possible.
• T4: Archimedean Spiral. 2 modes are supported. In 1-st mode patient is instructed to follow Archimedean spiral contour using his finger clockwise. In 2-nd mode, patient is asked to draw spiral contour himself counter clockwise. Goal is to follow (draw) spiral contour as precise as possible.
Cognitive impairment tasks (based on SAGE methodology, https://wexnermedical.osu.edu/brain-spine-neuro/memory-disorders/sage):
• T5: General Questions (Insights). Patient is surveyed about his memory (thinking), balance, depression problems etc.
• T6: Orientation (Current Day). Patient is asked to memorize and enter current date (year, month, day).
• T7: Picture Naming. Patient is instructed to recognize shown picture and write down name of the picture in device screen.
• T8: Similarities, Calculation. Patient is instructed to answer given questions, which require basic mathematical knowledge.
• T9: Construction (3D figure). Patient is instructed to draw (replicate) given 3D shape e.g. cube.
• T10: Construction (Clock). Patient is instructed to draw a large face of a clock, place in the numbers, position the hands for given time in hours and minutes.
• T11: Verbal Fluency. Patient is asked to enter a specified number of names in a category e.g. countries.
• T12: Executive (Modified Trials). Patient is instructed to draw a line from one circle to another starting at 1 and alternating numbers and letters.
• T13: Executive (Problem Solving). Patient is instructed to place lines to form logical shape e.g. 2 squares.
• T0: Memory. Patient is instructed to remember a sentence and enter it at the end of testing (only supported in integration mode)
Speech impairment tasks:
• T14: Voice Recorder. Patient is instructed to repeat shown text paragraph (e.g. poem) using his voice for several times.
Energy Expenditure impairment task:
• T15: TDEE. Total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) metric is calculated after patient is surveyed about his daily food ration and exercise activities.
NOTES:
• Training mode: patient can try out individual tasks for multiple times before actual testing procedure
• Testing mode: proposed 16 tasks are sequentially integrated by providing each next test randomly, thus not allowing patients to cheat and memorize tasks
• Multi-Language (currently English and Lithuanian) support. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR TRANSLATION TO OTHER LANGUAGES
• Involves automatic collection of data and features from tasks and evaluation of behavior pattern after test procedure. This is based on synchronization with researcher's Google drive account (No identity data collected)
